PUBLIC NOTICE | COMMUNITY SURVEY | NEW PUBLIC ART PROJECT

Weddin Shire Council invites all residents to provide input through the community survey in regards to the shire’s newest public art endeavour, a large mural. This mural will cover the entire western wall of the Grenfell Motel and be another drawcard in the public art space for our shire.

Council will compile the feedback from the community consultation session held on 4 July 2024, and from this survey, into a briefing document which will be included with the Request for Quote information distributed to interested artists for their quotations.

The existing portraits, which are metal sheets fixed to the wall, can be easily removed and relocated without causing any damage. The council will work with the Motel owners to determine an alternate location within Grenfell for these portraits.

The survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/wsc-mural

A printed copy of the survey can  also be collected from the Council office and Grenfell Visitor Information Centre.

Please note the survey will close at 5:00pm Monday 15 July 2024

Your feedback, whether shared in person or through the survey, will help this project be one the community can be proud of. We encourage every resident to contribute their ideas, ensuring that our public art embodies the collective spirit and vision of our community. This is the communities opportunity to provide input on the projects brief and scope of design that will be provided to the artists.
